The 2014/15 season was a tremendously successful season with the club achieving a domestic double. Having asserted the champions status with three games to spare, the sweet taste of a triumphant season was intensified after the agonising failure of the previous campaign. On the verge of being crowned English Champions and the opportunity to be champion the Champions of Europe status once again, Jose Mourinho’s return appeared to be more treasurable than any supporter could envisage. However, a home defeat overshadowed with a series of missed chances and poor officiating from Mike Dean consequently left the club devoid of the chance to obtain possession of the Barclays Premier League title.
